Happy Holidays and December Highlights

With Christmas just around the corner, we’re pleased to share that we’re due to ship our first delivery - just in time for the holidays.

First and foremost, thank you for your support. As expats who call Hong Kong home, we both feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by our circle of friends who we call on as our local family. Toasst was meant to be a way for us to share our combined passion for wine and travel and we hope we inspire all of you to live and wine better.

For this first delivery we chose wines that really struck us as representing everything that is Toasst - celebrating life through better wine from around the world. Through our importer network, we hand sourced wines from independent, dynamic winemakers who believe passionately in making really good wine representative of the terroir and the land without costing an arm and a leg. For our members, this means quality wine that is meant to be drank and enjoyed without a lot of hassle and effort.

For the wines in your first shipment, we thought to share a few highlights from the tasting notes in your Toasst box that will guide you through your wine journey.

In this first box you’ll find a gorgeous 2016 Mac Forbes Pinot Noir hailing from Yarra Valley, Australia. Having personally shared a glass with Mac, we know that he will be the first one to tell you - that his wine is not meant to be precious and tucked away somewhere for years. It’s meant to be drank now, appreciated as a back to basics wine completely stripped of artifice - and enjoyed “purely from the earth”, as Mac likes to say. You’ll either love or hate it but we hope you love it.

For those who prefer whites, the Terroir al Limit Historic White takes you to the storied Priorat wine region. Full bodied with acidity and oxidative notes, it’s a blend of native varietals Macabea and Garnacha Blanca made with as little intervention as possible to represent the

Priorat terroir. It’s simply delicious. We’ve found it to be a terrific crowd pleaser for numerous occasions, offering a complexity that pairs with more substantial dishes for these colder months and working across the aisle as a white wine for red wine lovers.

Depending on which type of Toasst box that you have signed up for, we hope this gives you insight into different wines. Incidentally, both of the above wines are sold only through trade channels, which means you won’t likely find it at retail in Hong Kong.

We really do hope you love your first Toasst box as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Shipments will be sent to members from December 13-15 and we can’t wait to hear from you.

Happy Holidays,
